there is something trance-inducing about the way fire moves...
Tuesday mornings were never Adrianna's favorite. One, they were worse than Mondays because you couldn't really take a vacation day for them. Two, they were kinda in the middle of the week already so if you did decide to get sick on a Tuesday, you'd still have to come back the next day. You couldn't play sick for four whole days until the weekend! Now not only did she have to suffer through another boring, lonely Tuesday but she had to suffer through it alone in a new town. Even with her wide array of social contacts she knew no one in the small town of Oaks Down. Lovely.
The low purr of the ZR1's engine died as D pulled into one of those little parking spots on the main road. There were a few people outside, having their lunches or talking on the phone, and a few.... normal people cars. Thats what she called them. After all, you couldnt race a Camry even if you tried. Please. Adrianna had tried her hand at one once. Didnt work out so well. That thing BARELY moved. But that was alright, she was fine with her silver Corvette. That thing definitely moved.
The first thing Adrianna noticed was that little Oaks Down had nearly nothing in common with big Los Angeles, California. There were some office buildings and shops in downtown, but nothing that came near to the glamour and beauty of DTLA's old historic buildings and skyscrapers. The people here didnt come close either. A sigh escaped her as she reluctantly closed the door to her 'vette and made her way down main street.
"Oh boy, theres nothing to do here..." She grumbled to herself, adjusting the white infinity scarf around her neck. She was cold, miserable, alone.... Ugh. Moving sucked. Moving as a punishment sucked even more. D was glad, at least, that she had packed for the weather. She wasnt dressed for it today, but she was glad that she had brought her jackets and sweats and all the crap that she never used in Southern California to this cold hell. Okay, it wasnt that bad... but still! D was already homesick and she barely arrived in this tiny town an hour ago. "First day blues, thats all baby."
There wasnt much to look at in downtown Oaks Down, so D went through her list of things she wanted to accomplish today. One, find a place to stay. Two, find a horse. Three, figure out what to hell to do with the horse. Four, dont kill the horse. The last thought mirrored the last order her father had given her before she boarded the plane. Don't kill the horse Duh! Those beasts were huge... how the hell would she manage to kill one? Her ZR1 was probably the size of its flanks! D couldnt suppress the small smile that came to her lips, adding a small spark to her blue eyes. What a thought. Running over a horse...
The smile faded quickly from her face as Adrianna realized she had been walking this whole and now had no clue where the hell she was. "Brilliant." She pivoted in place but nothing seemed familiar. She hadnt been walking for that long had she? Ohboy. Maybe she should've added one more thing to that list of hers. Five, don't get lost like a dumbass.
