Name: Foolish Little Chic ( Tia ) Age: 7 Herd: --- Rank: --- Owner: Madison Roberts Gender: Mare ----- Breed: American Quarter Horse Eye color: Brown Fur color: Palomino Mane & Tail Color: Cream Markings: 1 sock (hind left) & stripe Height: 15.2 hands
Personality: Tia has many of the typical American Quarter Horse traits, such as the level headed brain, enjoying the company of anyone, showing off in the arena, heavily enjoying getting pampered and just the daily life she would live. She's pretty easy going, and even though she was started at three, she is reliable enough to have anyone on her back. Tia's very trustworthy and relaxed when it comes to tense situations - such as showing and hasn't had many troublesome moments. She the type of horse that just takes life as it hits her, and with the mellow mind, she easily just continues along as if nothing around her scared her.
Bravery is one of the better traits of her as well as determination. Anyone that rode Tia to try and teach her something would just love the effort and enthusiasm toward learning something new. She'll never give up, may get frustrated at times but once she completes it, gets rewarded in planted in her brain permanently. She is always looking for challenges as that is something she really enjoys - new things that can make any lesson or ride interesting.
Ring work is more her style. Trail riding isn't what she considers enjoyable all the time. She will often get bored and her energy will drop and the ride will be slow, though at times the trails are a wonderful place for her. It lets her be a horse, and on occasion in a large meadow or something Maddie will continue to work with Tia on collection and basic things like that. The most exciting part of trail riding for Tia is running. Every now and then she'll be asked to run up a hill, or sprint across a meadow and that would have to be her favorite thing.
Tia as always been friendly, since day one she enjoyed being around other horses, a variety of people personalities and all in all just is very social. This works with and against Maddie. Sometimes Tia can get barn sour or herd bound and some days it could be difficult bringing Tia's mind into the working habit, rather than wanting to go back to the buddies. Yet at shows, it puts an ease to her, allowing her to relax because she a large amount of different energies and with all the people and other horses, she feel more comfortable and confident.
Yet like all horses, she does have a temper. Tia's temper how ever has nothing to do with violence towards other horses or to people. When she gets frustrated and if a new rider is on her and she doesn't understand the command, she will defiantly stop, toss her head, swish her tail and if the rider tries to add leg pressure to get her to move forward, she will just back up. On occasion she has kicked a foot out, but that was showing her frustration. She has crow hopped, nothing major and she isn't much for taking off, rearing, or biting.

Family: Chromed Out Chic - dam Whimpys Little Step - sire
History: tia has come from a place of pampering and plenty of tlc. being bred in cherry, creek British Columbia, she was bred to the famous reining stallion whimpys little step, and came out of a mare that has also seen her fair share of winnings within the reining arena. coming from a long line of fabulous blood lines, tia had been created. her training started when she was two years old, starting with of course the basics, then moved into the more complex training at age four. she's mastered many of the basic reining techniques such as the sliding stops, the spins and the gaits, though she's still in need of work on her lead changes.
she's also seen the lower parts of life, as she was sold through an auction due to a bad farrier that had trimmed her too short everytime causing her to come up lame. she was sold for a low, heart breaking price. a price that surely took offense to the mare, or so she thought. once sold and at her new home, an older couple bought her in efforts of breeding and being a lawn ornament as well as a pasture buddy for one of their older horses their grand daughter rode. she didn't get much exercise and was bred once, the older couple keeping the foal then selling the mare.
that was when tia met maddie. at first sight, tia had a soft spot for maddie, maybe because she saved the young horse from boredom, or because maddie just naturally has a welcoming energy surrounding her. none the less, maddie experimented with the mare, seeing just how much she knew, then they started competing and forever remained happy.
