I drove to the beach in my 2010 bright yellow mustang GT. Yeah, the car was a beauty, standing out in a crowd it definately showed class, but that wasn't what I was all about. Yeah just because I could afford an expensive car doesn't mean that it was handed down to me. No, I worked hard for my money. I loved coming to the beach, even though it was only about 45 degree, it felt good against my skin. Winter was gone and the sun's heat was finally warming up the sand, perfect time to go walking on the beach. I stood at the edge of the tar and the sand, taking a deep breath of the salt air into my lungs, keeping me refreshed. Suddently I just felt a huge weight come off my shoulders. I knew that it wouldn't last, but it felt good at the moment. The wind picked up a little and I could feel it lift the little hair that was on my head. I kept my hair short, being in the Marine Corps that is how they prefered males to have their hair and it grew on me, so I kept up with it even though I was on leave. Some days I wished the corps would call me and tell me to go to my duty so I could get away and forget everything that was here, but then I had to be happy that I was one of the few people that were alive and didn't die in the wars that were going on over seas. No one could image what I had gone through over there. Many would love to forget things that had happened to them, and I was one of them. I wished many years that I could forget my past but I knew it was going to stay with me til the day that I died.
Finally taking a nice deep breath I took a step barefoot onto the warm sand, feeling it come between my toes and warm up the bottom of my callased feet. It calmed me even more. I looked onto the horizon, only seeing a little more than half of the scene that was infront of me. I was partially blind in my left eye, do to a...incident...that happened as a child, one of those memories that everyone wishes that they could forget. Walking I felt my feet sink with every step that I took on the beach, feeling the warmth run up my body and relieve my muscles. I got close to the water's edge and sat down, feeling the sprays of the waves hitting my face. The sun was just coming up into the sky, it was early morning. I felt like being alone, just relaxing was the thing that I needed to calm my racing mind.

there is something trance-inducing about the way fire moves...
"Finally..." A sigh of relief escaped Adrianna as she caught sight of the coastline and the ocean beyond. The tension seemed to dissipate from her shoulders with the salty sea breeze. It was cold, but it was still the beach. D skidded her car to a halt, impatient to finally feel the sand between her toes again. Before she climbed out of the car, she slipped out of her jeans and into a pair of Daisy Dukes. She changed quickly, experienced at making sure she kept her ass hidden behind the tinted windows of the Corvette and not where passerbys could see. Not that she had to worry anyways. There was only one car in the lot parked at least a dozen paces away and whose driver was out on the beach, facing away from the lot.
With a huge grin on her face, she scrambled out of the silver ZR1, barely taking the time to adjust her sunglasses and lock the car behind her. The sand was warm and familiar beneath her as she left the asphalt of the parking lot and stepped onto the beach. Home - that's what all this sand, surf, and sun meant. It was a little chilly and it definitely wasn't as crowded as Newport, Huntington, or Bolsa Chicka, but it was still more familiar than the rest of this godforsaken town.
Adrianna cast a wary glance towards the only other person on the beach, careful to keep her distance. She didnt want to interrupt his view and she sure as hell didnt want him to impose on her. She finally found something that resembled home and she didnt want any northern stranger to disrupt that. However, that didnt stop her from letting her green gaze wander over the lonely figure. Buff, fit...
Stop. Nope, she definitely wasnt looking for a boytoy. She didnt need one. What she needed was someone to teach her about horses, not someone to destroy. Nope, no more games. Focus, D. She thought, forcing herself to move in the opposite direction. You need to get home to those real beaches. Not any of this fake shit. Still, she felt her gaze wander back to the stranger. He was lonely. She was lonely. One plus one equals two right?
No, she had to focus. There was no advantage to getting caught up in drama. Plus, did she really want to destroy another boy? D sighed and kicked up some sand. Yes, she wanted to play some games. But she wanted to get home to Southern California too. The feeling of homesickness had hit her already and it had only been a few days. With a small scowl, she forced herself to change directions and walk straight towards the waves.
Damn, life's a beach.

Being so lost in the sand that was warming up his feet, the Marine didn't hear the screeching breaks of a car up in the parking lot that was behind him, being much too lost in the sound of the waves, the warm sun that was beating upon his body and the warmth that the sand was providing. He could just feel whole body relax, tension just melting away from the heat of the sun and sand combined, granted it was still a little chilly outside but all the heat just made it disappear. The beach made him think of his boot camp days out in South Carolina. For some reason the young stupid boy wanted to go to boot camp in the middle of summer where the beaches were crawling with sand fleas and where the sun was always beating down on you. For some reason it made him feel stronger. Every morning his drill instructors would get his platoon to run five miles on the beach. It was hard running on the beach especially when the sand would just slip under your shoes. You were better off running barefoot to have better support for yourself. Your toes could actually grip the sand while you were running while shoes just slid the sand from under you.
But thats what Channing loved about the Marines, it was always a challenge. Having someone yell at you every moment, and then proving them wrong in the end was the total satisfaction that anyone can get. Finally, my training instincts kicked in and I could hear soft, elligant foot steps on the beach behind me. Without looking behind me I just listened to the foosteps. They weren't very loud, no they were deligate and soft steps, most likely belonging to a female, athletic look, but something weary was inside of her because she was now walking in the opposite direction. Looking in the direction of the girl, he was able to catch a glimpse of the owner of the steps. Why was she walking away? Did he scare her? Too many questions endered the man's head as he watched the beauty walking the other way. With a smile Channing kicked up sand from under his feet and jogged his way towards the figure. Not going too fast he didn't want to scare the girl.

The bright sunlight, the sea breeze... Everything was just fine until Adrianna registered the thud of approaching footsteps. A scowl colored her angular features and she forced herself to keep on walking the opposite way, not bothering to turn around and acknowledge the unwelcomed stranger. She resolutely squared her shoulders and kept her bright green eyes focused on the waves breaking against the shore. Eventually she was close enough to let the waves wash over her toes. The water was cold, but not too uncomfortable and she went in deeper a few steps, allowing the water to reach her calves.
D could still hear the approach of the boy, or man - whatever. She didnt want to deal with a stranger right now. Not even a buff, fine stranger. Nope. She needed to get home, unfreeze her trust fund, and go back to the life she had left behind. Screw this stupid northern shit. Living in Alberta, Canada was not her idea of a good time. Which was probably the whole reason her father sent her up here anyways. He knew how much she hated the cold weather. At least it wasnt snowing...
Another sigh escaped her. Man she was really feeling the sad, self-pity a lot these days. She was also doing a lot of sighing. Blah. Must be this miserable weather. "At least there's some sun...." She muttered under her breath, fully aware that the boy was still approaching now that she had stopped to a standstill in the murky water. Every few seconds, she had to adjust her footing because the sand beneath her was being sucked away back into the sea but still she refused to turn around and look at the oncoming stranger. If he really wants to run across all that sand to get to me, well then he can start a conversation too. D thought to herself, also reminding herself to keep the annoyance at being interrupted out of her voice when she finally talked to him. No, this particular stranger would get to see "friendly" Adrianna.

While talking, you guys didn't notice waves start the shorten their path upon the shore. That could only mean one thing, a tsunami! Better get out of there quick.
It is up to you to decided on how deadly the tsunami is.
